Are “se faz favor” and “por favor” interchangeable? Or are there times when you would use one versus the other?
Hi. Yes they are. However ‘por favor’ can be understood as more of a plea. Like if you want somebody to do something for you. It is also a polite way of getting somebody’s attention. ‘Se faz favor’ is a little less formal. Many people just say:’faz favor’, which is even more casual. But they are totally interchangeable and use can depend a lot on the region. Where I live we hear quite a mix.
